Arrived in East London in the late 1970s

Studied fashion at the London College of Fashion

Became paralysed

And through perseverance

Taught herself to walk again

Opened a kid’s designer store

That she managed on her own for 10 years

Turning over 1 million in profits

All while raising 2 girls

And 2 boys

One of whom is called Daniel Amoakah

Who channelled his mother’s ambitious nature

And now stands as the founder & head creative

Of the cultural lifestyle brand
