An Introduction to Genre-Filmmaking Workshop Series

In partnership with Apple Creative Studios London and Mayor of London, POCC curated and hosted a 4-part workshop series at Apple Covent Garden London to give emerging filmmakers a greater understanding of the filmmaking process from pitching and ideation, to production and collaboration.

The sessions featured an impressive line up of experienced filmmakers from the POCC filmmaking community, helping to break down the fundamentals of genre filmmaking: from Music and Narrative, to Commercial and Documentary.

The talks attended by over 100 young filmmakers took place across the month of August 2022 and dove deeper into the art of filmmaking in free hands-on sessions with industry-leading producers, filmmakers and directors. Participants were encouraged to co-pitch, collaborate with other attendees and enhance their pitching and filmmaking skills using Apple products iPhone 13 Pro and MacBook Pro. The line-up included:

Music Videos from Pitch to Production with @kimjarrett_@preciousmahaga and @reminhoo.

Getting Creative in Commercial Film with @nanabempah@kevinmorosky and @cooksdj

Telling Stories in Narrative Film with @Pranav Arya, @kareemadeshina and @ebeletate

Discovering Documentary Film with  @Iam.jobo@___Shimmy___ and @JadeAngJackman
