In response to Boris Johnson’s reinstating of stop and search policies, promising to “come down hard on crime” and harsher prison sentences – a policy which disproportionately impacts Black people – the Pocc community launched a social campaign which encouraged members of the public to film police stopping and searching.
The campaign launched across social on the week of Notting Hill Carnival, a festival often tainted by police stop and searches, and looked to raise awareness of the steps members of the public should take to help hold the policing institutions accountable and keeping the community safe.
