October Artist In Residence: The Power of Heritage

October 12, 2022
THIS OPPORTUNITY CLOSES SUNDAY 30th OCTOBER 2022.
We’re back with the fourth instalment of our Artist In Residence fund, brought to you in partnership with Clear Channel and Shutterstock. We’re offering more outdoor media space and £500 artist grants for UK artists of South Asian descent. To enter all you have to do is submit your artistic interpretation of the following brief:

THE BRIEF – THE POWER OF YOUR HERITAGE

South Asian culture is so much more than Diwali. It encompasses so many customs, religions and lived experiences. Yet society has a very one-dimensional view of it. This burst we’re focussing on the South Asian community, and we want you to show us work that represents what your heritage means to you. Maybe it’s just a small part of your identity, the learnings from and strength of your family’s stories – however you define it, show us your heritage in its full power.

HOW DO I ENTER?

Email [email protected] by Sunday 30th October 2022 with the following:

  1. Your submission:
    1. Visual artists: Hi-Res portrait entries to fit digital billboards
    2. Verbal/Word artists: 1 page of text (50 words max) to fit into our template
  2. Your bio (100 words max)
  3. A short description of your art (100 words max)
  4. Your work’s title

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

If submitting imagery with models, please ensure permissions are granted for any models featured.

Final artists will need to sign a release form to give permission for your work to be showcased in Pocc, Shutterstock and Clear Channel social, online and media communications worldwide as well as in outdoor media as part of the 2022 Art Fund programme.

Final artists will be invited to become a Shutterstock Content Collaborator, although this is optional and not a pre-requisite of receiving the £500 grant.

Our team will endeavour to supply a site list before your art goes live across billboards so you can see your work live.

Final artwork will be live for up to a period of two weeks from launch.
