Dhai Calligraphy takes a nostalgic and somewhat childish approach to the appreciation of the tradition of yoghurt making. The layout on the page, with the shape of crescents intentionally mimics the indents made by spoons on the surface of the yoghurt.
‘Growing up, whenever my mother would make dhai, there would be arguments over who got to make the first indent in it. This memory, of which I thought nothing of at the time, has become vital in my understanding and appreciation of my culture.’
