POCC Jobs is proud to advertise this role on behalf of Homotopia, the UK’s longest-running queer arts and culture festival. As Homotopia steps into a new era and celebrates two decades of championing queer creativity and activism, they’re looking for a new Director to help shape what comes next.
About Homotopia
Founded in 2003, Homotopia is a queer arts and social justice organisation that drives cultural impact through art and activism. They support emerging LGBTQIA+ artists, nurture the next generation of queer talent, and since 2012 have held National Portfolio Organisation status – the only dedicated queer arts organisation in the UK with this recognition.
The Role
Homotopia is searching for a Director who can take the lead on both the artistic direction and strategic development of the charity. This is a role for someone who thrives in dynamic leadership positions and brings strong experience across producing, development, and organisational management. You’ll be stepping into a pivotal moment in Homotopia’s story – building on their legacy, driving forward new opportunities, and overseeing delivery of their three-year NPO agreement with Arts Council England.
This is not an Artistic Director role. Instead, this is your chance to creatively strengthen Homotopia’s vision, mission, values, and behaviours, ensuring the organisation continues to grow from strength to strength.
What Homotopia is Looking For
They’re looking for someone who naturally leads and role models the behaviours they expect across the organisation. You’ll bring strong executive experience from the arts sector, ideally within an NPO, and know how to build meaningful relationships with partners, funders, and communities. You’ll be confident in fundraising and income generation, comfortable with financial management and interpreting budgets, and bring solid understanding of the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ people and communities.
Homotopia is a values-led and inclusive employer. They welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences, and you’ll be encouraged to bring your authentic self to the role. They’re committed to fair and accessible recruitment, including operating a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for candidates who declare a disability and meet the essential criteria.
They believe in learning from each other, creating a workplace where ideas are respected and voices are valued.
