Job Description

Momentum is the back-of-the-deck-idea agency. The ideas that other agencies deem too crazy, too physical, too hard to pull off are the ideas that we get to do every day. We have the resources, expertise and technology to make any idea possible – but what we need is a smart, strategic creative leader to make them ideas that matter.

As ECD, your job will be building and shaping a creative department that marries the strategic creativity of the best above the line agencies with the flawless execution of the best experiential shops.

The Executive Creative Director is responsible for managing a group of accounts and creative
employees. The ECD should touch every project for every client, making sure that the
standards of excellence are upheld, the client is satisfied with the work, and the employees are
excited about working in the agency.
The ECD must cultivate strong relationships with counterparts in other departments and other
offices around the world and work as a team to develop ideas. The ECD must be able to
influence the client’s decision-making and organically grow the business by consistently
delivering effective creative.

Creative Leadership

  • Oversight and leadership of the UK Creative team of 25+ to produce premium creative and
    ground-breaking activations.
  • Management and mentorship of a team of 4 direct reports, in addition to responsibility for
    the attraction, recruitment and retention of creative talent to grow the creative capability.
  • Creative leadership of client presentations, delivering on a high-level ability to sell an idea,
    respond to questions and communicate the agency’s point of view.
  • Facilitation of delivery through navigation of complex business constraints using excellent
    judgement to balance the goals of Momentum and our clients.
  • Strive for greater efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Interdepartmental Representation

  • Lead in the development of strong relationships with Senior Business Leadership partners
    and our clients, partnering with Senior Management on forward-planning for future success
    on UK including operational support, staffing and profitability as it relates to the creative and
    creative team.
  • Cultivate a team environment that facilitates mutual respect and partnership across
    functions and teams including Creative, Integrated Production, Strategy, Production and

Business Leadership

  • Agency Advocacy
  • Provide cultural leadership, representative of Momentum’s core values.
  • Actively participate in the UK Office Leadership Team.
  • Support us in ensuring that creativity comes from everywhere within the organisation.

Client Whisperer

  • Partner with Clients to better address, understand, and tackle shared business challenges,
    providing deep category expertise and industry trends to inspire Client confidence (and to
    serve as their creative confidant).
  • Frame creative in a way that delivers on Client’s goals (and their ability to share the work
    with internal stakeholders). Champions the business objectives and the creative solutions to
    agency and Client, alike, pinch hits for Client and/or co-presenting to share work with
    internal stakeholders.
